LIGHTING CERTIFICATION

It is our understanding that at least in California, people that cut and style hair have to intern for months and pass a test before they can legally work on their own.

But for lighting, people can do a James Rockford routine and print out business cards in their car.

LC (lighting certification) from NCQLP (National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions) is the closest thing that the lighting industry has to PE (professional engineer) in the engineering field.

We highly recommend that customers only work with lighting professionals that are LC and that all lighting professionals become LC.

Although Stan Walerczyk knew energy efficiency hands down, he learned a lot about quality of lighting taking the prep class for the LC test.

He co-taught the local prep class the next two years.
